Absolutely! Regardless of your desire to teach public classes, yoga teacher training is a great avenue to deepen your knowledge and practice. Generally, only a handful of students go on to teach public classes, but learning the skills required to teach is a transformative experience for all participants!
Each teacher Teacher Training program reflects the unique style of its studio and lead instructors. If you connect with the community, practice, and teachings at vyb studio, this program is the perfect fit for you!
If you haven’t taken a class with us yet, we encourage you to join one with Allie Labate, the lead teacher of our Yoga Teacher Training Program and owner of vyb studio.
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have, so feel free to schedule a time to chat with us! You can email Allie here: allie@vyb-studio.com
Throughout the training, we will read and use several texts (around 5 books) to support your learning and growth. These texts range in price from $3 each to $25. All books can be purchased new or used on Amazon or at any other major book retailer.
As we get closer to the start of training, you will be emailed your syllabus and required reading list.
We are not registered with Yoga Alliance, but you will become a Certified Yoga Teacher upon graduation of this training. Yoga Alliance (YA) is simply a registry of names, not a certifying body like ACE or NASM in the personal training industry. In yoga, there is no governing or certifying body. A YA registration only gives you the ability to put “RYT” (meaning Registered Yoga Teacher) beside your name, after paying them a yearly fee.
Since 2020, all of our teacher trainings have not been associated with Yoga Alliance as we have seen no benefit to do so. Our training significantly expands upon the 200-hour requirements set forth by YA, giving you a more comprehensive and practical learning experience. The teachers we have graduated from our program have moved on to teach all over the U.S., finding lots of opportunities to teach without the need for the YA registration. It’s more important to choose a school and teacher that you are aligned with and who cares about giving you the best possible education and support beyond the training itself. From there, you’ll continue to grow and evolve and gain experience, which will eventually lead to opportunities that have nothing to do with Yoga Alliance and everything to do with following your truth, being open to making mistakes and learning from them.
At the end of our training, you will receive a certificate and be a certified yoga teacher (CYT), but not a Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher (RYT).

I started yoga for all the wrong reasons—wanting to sculpt my body, achieve impressive postures, and push my physical limits. But yoga had other plans for me. What began as a pursuit of strength and flexibility became an unraveling, a deep questioning, and a discovery of something far greater than the body. Yoga shattered the illusion that fulfillment comes from external achievements and instead led me inward—to presence, to truth, to the infinite.
I grew up in a small town in Virginia, deep in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. In my early 20s, I turned to bodybuilding as a way to lose weight and build muscle, dedicating nearly eight years to sculpting my physique. But beneath the surface, I developed an unhealthy relationship with my body and food—one that slowly eroded my mental and physical well-being. Yet, through bodybuilding, I cultivated a deep fascination with biomechanics, anatomy, and human performance. I became obsessed with understanding how the body moves and functions. But it wasn’t until an injury forced me to slow down that I truly began to listen—to my body, to my mind, and to something deeper within. That’s when I found yoga—and through it, I found myself.
Yoga is more than a practice; it is a path to awakening. Through asana, I learned discipline and mental focus. Through breathwork, I learned stillness. Through meditation, I learned that there is so much more to this existence than what we see on the surface. My practice and studies led me to embody yoga’s eight limbed path, dive into the wisdom of the Vedas, embrace Ayurveda as a way of life, and explore the depths of consciousness through meditation.
My Experience as a Teacher Trainer
One of my greatest passions is guiding others to become confident, knowledgeable, and well-rounded yoga teachers. Since 2020, I have led three 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings focused on Power Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga, as well as two 75-hour specialized trainings in Progressive Vinyasa and Rocket-inspired Yoga. In 2020, I was also part of the teaching team for Yoga With Carson’s 200-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training, which centered on Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Rocket Yoga. Additionally, I have created an online Ayurveda course to help yoga teachers and practitioners integrate the principles of Ayurvedic health and lifestyle into their practice and teaching.
My approach to teacher training is grounded in a deep understanding of how the physical body works, the art of intelligent sequencing, and embodying the Eight Limbed Path of Yoga. I teach anatomy, physiology, and alignment in a way that is functional, practical, and easy to apply in the yoga classroom. Beyond the physical, I believe in the science of yoga at every level—body, mind, and spirit. My teachings honor the Ashtanga lineage and are deeply rooted in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, helping teachers integrate the philosophical and meditative aspects of yoga into their personal practice and teaching.
Additionally, I view meditation as an essential part of the yogic path and aim to make it accessible, approachable, and an anticipated daily ritual rather than something that feels out of reach. My goal is to develop teachers who not only lead powerful, safe, and effective classes but who also understand yoga as a lifelong practice of Self-inquiry, study, and transformation.
My Teaching Style
My classes are inspired by the Ashtanga and Rocket Yoga lineages—challenging, playful, and set to energizing music. I believe real growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones, and I’m okay with being the yoga teacher you love to hate (until Savasana, of course).
Beyond the mat, I’m a total geek for learning—whether it’s diving into ancient yoga philosophy, studying body mechanics, or exploring consciousness through meditation. I’m also a proud hillbilly at heart, happiest when I’m outside, loving on animals, and getting lost in the woods.
