THE STUDIO

The Studio

vyb (vibe) studio is a space built for turning inward—a place to gather your attention back in a world constantly asking for it.

Through immersive sound, breath, meditation, and intentional movement, we create space to listen beneath the noise—to the body, the breath, the silence, and whatever else might be waiting there.

The Vibes

Small by Design

Our sessions are intentionally kept small—and our studio is small, too. That means when a session fills up, we're all in it together.

It's part of what makes vyb feel different. You're not disappearing into the back of a crowded yoga class or practicing anonymously alongside dozens of strangers. We learn your name, notice when you've been gone, and get to know you over time.

Small groups also allow us to be more present with each person in the room. Whether you're here for yoga, meditation, handstands, or sound, our approach is personal and hands-on. When appropriate, we offer physical assists and supportive touch as part of the experience—helping you feel more connected, supported, and cared for throughout your practice.

Enter the Dark

The studio itself is designed to change the way you experience a room.

Dark walls and ceilings, low light, and an intentionally immersive environment help strip away some of the visual noise you're used to processing all day. There is less to look at, less to compare, and less pulling your attention outward.

Instead, you can close your eyes, settle in, and listen.

Tea, After

We like to leave a little room for what happens after the practice.

When time allows, stay for a few minutes. Have some tea. Say hello to someone you haven't met yet. Let yourself land before heading back into the rest of your day.

Allie often chooses or blends the tea with the season in mind, drawing a little inspiration from Ayurveda and Chinese medicine. Sometimes it's thoughtfully blended. Sometimes it's simply something delicious.

It's nothing formal. Just a few quiet minutes to connect, settle, and transition back into the world.

Our Sonic Philosophy

The Physics of Sound

Sound is physical. Acoustic instruments create real pressure waves that move through the room and through you. Gongs, metal, drums, and other resonant instruments give the body something tangible to feel while the mind has something immediate to listen to. As attention settles into vibration, rhythm, and resonance, the nervous system can begin to shift from stimulation toward stillness.

The Void

We call the space between waking and sleeping THE VOID. It is a liminal state—deeply relaxed, yet still aware; quiet, spacious, and open. You don't have to force your way there. Through sound, stillness, and hovering your attention between wakefulness and sleep, the boundaries of ordinary thought begin to soften. What remains is a sense of vastness, peace, clarity, and possibility.

Sound as Movement

Sound doesn't only quiet us. It can move us. In our movement practices, music becomes part of the physical experience—shaping breath, rhythm, intensity, and attention. We pair intentional movement with driving electronic sound to create practices that are immersive, physical, and deeply embodied.

Listening is the Practice

Sound isn't background. It is the practice. We use vibration, rhythm, resonance, frequency, music, and silence to train attention—to listen more closely to what is happening around you and within you. Even in movement, Allie teaches primarily through verbal guidance rather than demonstration, inviting you to listen, feel, and find your own way into the experience. Here, listening isn't passive. It's a skill we hone.

Meet Allie + Louie

vyb is built by two people: Allie and Louie. Partners in life, practice, and a shared obsession with sound, movement, and the strange spaces that open up when we learn to pay attention.

Allie has spent more than a decade teaching yoga and studying meditation, Daoist internal arts, and Ayurveda. Her practices live somewhere between intensity and stillness: loud music and challenging movement on one end, gong, pan drum, breath, and deep listening on the other. Her work is ultimately about teaching people how to inhabit their bodies, focus their attention, and get very, very still within.

Louie—aka Medisynth—is the sonic architect behind vyb. A registered nurse by training, he brings a deep curiosity about the human body and nervous system to his work with sound. As Medisynth, he creates live, immersive sound journeys that move between acoustic instruments and electronic synthesis—gongs, drums, didgeridoo, flutes, synthesizers, drones, effects, and rhythm. He also creates live hypnotic techno and ambient electronic music, expanding the sonic world of vyb beyond meditation into Listening Room experiences built for deep, immersive listening. Nothing is pre-recorded or simply pressed play. The sound unfolds live, in real time.
